RB-Y1 is Rainbow Robotics' bimanual mobile manipulator — a humanoid dual-arm torso on a fast wheeled base, from the KAIST HUBO team that won the 2015 DARPA Robotics Challenge. Two 7-DoF arms sit on a 6-DoF body 'leg' that raises the torso more than 50 cm to reach different heights, while the base can lean into turns at up to 2.5 m/s. Rainbow opened pre-orders in 2024 at about $80,000, positioning it as a research and industrial-automation platform with ROS 2 support and a master-slave data arm; it has gone to universities including MIT, UC Berkeley, and Georgia Tech, to factory trials at Samsung and Toyota, and in 2026 to a first warehouse pilot at a Coupang fulfillment center. Rainbow is now a Samsung Electronics subsidiary (Samsung owns about 35%) and anchors Samsung's July 2026 'RX' humanoid push.
