Optimus Gen 2 improves walking speed, balance, and dexterity, with 11 DoF hands and integrated tactile sensing. Tesla is targeting a long-term price point suitable for both industrial and household deployment. As of Tesla's Q2 2026 earnings on July 22, Optimus was still not in production: the first Fremont lines were being installed, initial builds are earmarked for Tesla's own 'Optimus Academy' training rather than customers, and public sales are targeted for 2027. There is no order page or unit price yet.
