About this unit

Modular, developer-friendly research humanoid.

GR-2 doubles down on Fourier's open-development philosophy with a modular hardware architecture, quick-change end-effectors, 53 degrees of freedom, and a full SDK for research teams and integrators. Launched in September 2024, it has been deployed to research institutions including ETH Zurich and Carnegie Mellon, and is sold enterprise/institutional-only with no public list price (widely estimated around $150,000+). Fourier's commercial focus has since shifted toward the human-facing GR-3 'Care-bot.'

Highlights
  • 53 degrees of freedom; 12-DoF dexterous hand option
  • Modular arm and torso segments
  • Full ROS 2 + Python SDK
  • Deployed at ETH Zurich and Carnegie Mellon
The maker
Fourier Intelligence
Shanghai, China · est. 2015

Fourier grew from a rehabilitation-robotics leader into a full humanoid maker. The high-torque GR-2 platform serves research and industry with a modular open-development philosophy, while the newer GR-3 'Care-bot' pivots toward companionship, eldercare, and human-facing service roles.
