Digit 5 is Agility Robotics' fifth-generation general-purpose humanoid and its first engineered for 'cooperatively safe' work — able to operate alongside people without the safety cages traditional industrial automation requires. Unveiled September 15, 2026, it drops the backward-bending, ostrich-like knees of earlier Digits for a human-configured leg design powered by proprietary cycloidal actuators, letting it repeatedly lift up to 50 lb (22.7 kg) — 40% more than Digit 4. A new 90-minute battery recharges in just nine minutes — a 10:1 run-to-charge ratio that Agility says supports more than 20 hours of work in a day — and swappable grippers on ISO-standard flanges let one robot cover depalletizing, machine tending, kitting, inspection, and palletizing. Its safety architecture uses onboard AI and 360-degree sensing to detect people and slow, stop, step aside, or sit down; Agility says Digit is the first humanoid to pass an OSHA-administered industrial-safety field evaluation, and it is the first launch partner for NVIDIA's Halos for Robotics platform on IGX Thor. US-made at RoboFab in Salem, Oregon, Digit 5 is not yet buyable: Agility reports more than $300 million in multi-year orders (as of May 2026, subject to milestones) against just $1.8 million in 2025 net sales, and early access begins in H1 2027, with general availability — plus first-time EU and UK sales under a CE mark — targeted for end of 2027.

Agility Robotics manufactures Digit, a bipedal humanoid deployed for tote handling and logistics work — the humanoid with the longest commercial track record in the West, with more than 65,000 operating hours across customers including GXO, Schaeffler, Amazon, and Toyota. It assembles Digit at RoboFab, its 70,000-sq-ft Salem, Oregon plant designed for up to 10,000 robots per year, and in September 2026 unveiled the next-generation Digit 5. The company is going public via a SPAC merger with Churchill Capital Corp XI at a $2.5B valuation.
