A $3,555 home robot you teach with your phone.
Flourish 1 is a deliberately simple, low-cost home robot: a white, hat-wearing body with two arms on a six-wheel base and a torso that rises and drops to reach floor or table height. Owners teach it a chore in about 30 minutes using a smartphone — laying out the steps in an app, then driving the arms by moving the phone (whose motion sensors map to the arms) — after which Flourish fine-tunes a pretrained AI model for that specific task and home, and the robot can repeat it on a schedule: picking up shoes and toys, wiping tables, watering plants, fetching items, loading a dishwasher, or clearing a cat litter box. It is intentionally limited — a roughly 1.5 kg lift, two-finger grippers, a floor-mounted lidar and wrist cameras, Raspberry Pi onboard with heavier AI in the cloud, and slow, sometimes jerky motion — in exchange for a price far below home rivals like 1X's NEO ($20,000). Flourish Robots emerged from stealth on September 29, 2026 and opened pre-orders for a first batch of 50 units at $3,555 (with a refundable deposit), deliveries targeted for December 2026; the company reports a taught task works about 80% of the time, a figure it has not independently benchmarked.
- ◆$3,555 — a fraction of home rivals like 1X NEO ($20,000)
- ◆Taught in ~30 minutes by demonstrating with your phone
- ◆Wheeled base + two arms + rising torso; ~12 h battery
- ◆Autonomous after teaching; self-reported ~80% task success
- ◆Pre-orders opened Sept 29, 2026 (first 50 units); deliveries Dec 2026
Flourish Robots is a consumer-robotics startup straddling San Francisco and Paris, founded in 2026 by CEO Antoine Marcel and backed by a pre-seed round led by Families Fund. It builds deliberately simple, affordable home robots: its first product, Flourish 1, is a $3,555 wheeled two-armed machine that owners teach new chores in about 30 minutes by demonstrating the task with a smartphone, then schedule to run on their own. Rather than chase a universal household model, Flourish fine-tunes pretrained AI models task-by-task and home-by-home.
