In Shanghai's Lin-gang Special Area, AgiBot — founded by former Huawei 'Genius Youth' recruit Peng Zhihui — unveiled five commercial humanoid platforms. The company opened what Shanghai officials described as the city's first humanoid factory and committed to first commercial deliveries in October.
The lineup spanned biped, wheeled, and dexterous-manipulation platforms, targeted at industrial, service, and research customers. Peng's framing at the launch was blunt: 'We're now at the forefront of the industry.'
The launch was a signal about pace. China's humanoid state-fund push had, by mid-2024, produced multiple credible full-stack players — Unitree, UBTECH, XPENG, Fourier, LimX, and now AgiBot — each with distinct product theses and each shipping or delivering within an 18-month window.
