1X unveils NEO Gamma: the first humanoid built entirely for the home.

1X Technologies pulled the wrap off NEO Gamma, its next-generation home humanoid and the successor to NEO Beta. The design philosophy is the opposite of every industrial humanoid on the market: soft-body construction, whisper-quiet tendon-driven actuation, a knitted polymer exterior, and a minimalist form factor deliberately shaped to disappear into a domestic environment.

Gamma's new design introduces 'Emotive Ear Rings' for feedback communication, doubles as a mobile speaker system, and is calibrated for the acoustic and safety envelope of a home rather than a factory. The company positioned it as a research-grade unit today, with a consumer rollout to follow.

The strategic bet is that the home humanoid market will not be won by scaling down an industrial platform.
