Wandercraft spent more than a decade building self-balancing medical exoskeletons — the Atalante X rehabilitation system (two U.S. FDA clearances, deployed in 150+ rehab centers) and the FDA-cleared Eve personal exoskeleton — before transferring that dynamic-balance technology into Calvin-40, its first industrial humanoid. Founded in Paris in 2012 and led by co-founder and CEO Matthieu Masselin, the company now runs dual headquarters in Paris and New York and counts Renault Group as both a strategic investor and its first humanoid customer. In October 2026 it acquired US exoskeleton pioneer Ekso Bionics, combining the two firms' rehabilitation and personal-mobility systems — used across more than 700 clinics worldwide — into what they billed as the world's leading medical-exoskeleton company.
