All-weather humanoid built for rain, dust, and the street.
DR02 is DEEP Robotics' second-generation humanoid and, the company claims, the world's first full-size humanoid with a whole-body IP66 waterproof and dustproof rating — built to keep working in rain, dust, and heat that sideline most humanoids. The Hangzhou maker, best known for its rugged inspection 'robot dogs,' positions DR02 for outdoor industrial duty: power-line and plant inspection, logistics, emergency response, and security patrol across a −20°C to 55°C range. It stands 175 cm with 31 degrees of freedom, runs an NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin (275 TOPS) with LiDAR and depth cameras, lifts about 10 kg per arm (20 kg two-handed), walks at 1.5 m/s, and uses modular quick-detach arms and legs plus a hot-swap battery for fast field maintenance. In early October 2026 DEEP Robotics ran a batch of DR02 units on rainy Hangzhou streets — directing traffic, issuing multilingual safety reminders, and answering tourists' questions — as a field test of all-weather public-service work rather than a finished deployment. DEEP Robotics has not published a price or a battery runtime; it sells to businesses by quote, and CE/FCC certification is pending, so the figures here are estimates.
- ◆Claimed world's first full-size humanoid with IP66 all-weather (rain/dust) rating
- ◆Operates −20°C to 55°C; field-tested in sustained rain on Hangzhou streets (Oct 2026)
- ◆31 DoF; NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin (275 TOPS) with LiDAR + depth cameras
- ◆~10 kg per arm (20 kg two-handed); walks 1.5 m/s (up to 4 m/s)
- ◆Modular quick-detach limbs + hot-swap battery; sold by quote (no public price)
DEEP Robotics (Hangzhou Yunshenchu Technology), founded in 2017 by Zhejiang University roboticists Qiuguo Zhu and Chao Li, built its name on rugged Jueying and Lynx quadruped 'robot dogs' used for substation, tunnel, and power-line inspection with partners such as State Grid and China Southern Power Grid. It unveiled its first bipedal humanoid, DR01, at the 2024 World Robot Conference and followed with the DR02 — which it bills as the world's first full-size humanoid with a whole-body IP66 waterproof and dustproof rating. In early October 2026 the company ran a batch of DR02 units as traffic-support and tourist-guidance robots on rainy streets in Hangzhou's West Lake district — a field test of outdoor, all-weather duty rather than a routine deployment.
