Unitree clears regulators to become China's first listed humanoid maker.

Unitree Robotics cleared its final regulatory hurdle on June 1, 2026, when the China Securities Regulatory Commission approved the Hangzhou company's plan to list on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's STAR Market. The approval sets up Unitree to become China's first publicly traded pure-play humanoid robotics company, in an offering targeting roughly 4.2 billion yuan (about $610 million) to fund R&D and expand manufacturing capacity.

The financials behind the filing explain the investor enthusiasm. Unitree reported 2025 revenue of about 1.7 billion yuan, up more than 300% year over year, and swung to an adjusted net profit of roughly 600 million yuan — its first profitable year, and a nearly seven-fold jump from 2024. That combination of scale and profitability is rare in a sector still dominated by pre-revenue prototypes, and it underpins Unitree's status as the world's top-shipping humanoid maker by unit volume.

For the category, a listed Unitree changes the competitive math. Public-market capital and disclosure requirements give the company a cost-of-capital advantage and a transparency premium that private rivals lack, while its low-price G1 and H-series machines already anchor the entry tier of the market. The IPO also gives Western buyers and index investors a liquid way to bet on Chinese humanoids, feeding STAR Market and thematic robotics ETFs.

The listing lands amid a broadening Chinese duopoly, with AgiBot scaling production in parallel. For international customers, Unitree's public status cuts two ways: it validates the company's durability, but the geopolitics of buying China-built humanoids for sensitive logistics or defense-adjacent use cases remains a live procurement question. Either way, June 1 marked the moment humanoid robotics gained its first genuine public equity benchmark.
