Agility Robotics lines up ~$400M — the warehouse-first bet gets its war chest.

While much of the field chased general-purpose ambition and home robots, Agility Robotics kept its aim narrow: move totes in warehouses, today. The reported ~$400 million round — led by the venture arm of WP Global Partners with participation from SoftBank and existing backers including Amazon's Industrial Innovation Fund and NVIDIA's NVentures, at roughly a $1.75 billion pre-money valuation — is capital pointed squarely at manufacturing and deployment of Digit rather than at a moonshot. For buyers in logistics, that focus is a feature, not a limitation.

Agility's differentiator is that it is arguably the furthest along the boring-but-real path of actually renting robots to paying customers. Digit had already moved into commercial pilots through a robots-as-a-service model with material-handling partners, and the raise came alongside hardware upgrades: longer battery life, autonomous docking to charging stations, added safety features, and redesigned limbs and end effectors. Those are the unglamorous refinements that separate a robot that survives a real shift from one that impresses in a demo.

The market read is that investors are willing to underwrite the vertically focused, deploy-now strategy at a valuation approaching Figure territory, even without viral AI demos. For a warehouse operator weighing humanoids, Agility's proposition is de-risked in the ways that matter to operations: a robot designed for one job it can already do, a service pricing model that avoids capital risk, and now the balance sheet to actually build and support a fleet. In a category prone to overpromising, funding the least flashy contender at this scale was itself a signal about where near-term revenue is expected to come from.
